We have decided to open the repo's up for people to utilize the engine and have full access to all code, including the hive.

So, I downloaded the github files to tinker with and look at, and I just wanted to ask for formality's sake if I could add in a weapon pack to your mod for my own use. So, is it fine if I do that for my server and my friends?

Actually, this is not for setting up a server, this is for people want to do development and have the "source" files available. Previous to this, users simply extracted the files from the released PBO and there was no support for any modding. Now with this open, we fully support modding and anyone who wants to dev and submit to the repo can.

This is the current "official" server files http://forum.hngamers.com/resources/dayz-unleashed-server-files.10/

You can compile a new version from the repo by creating a PBO of the server files from the Github and replacing that with the version in the released files. In the repo is also an updated version of the SQL databases and the launcher supports the Beta client out of the box. The beta client is what is in the repo.
